About this project

FIT Dashboard is an open-source activity analytics application for processing Garmin FIT files. It is available as a Tauri v2 desktop app for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or as a Docker-deployable web app. The project is built with Rust, DuckDB, and React, and is designed as a local-first tool with no external service dependency. Core capabilities include native FIT file parsing through the fitparser crate, DuckDB-backed analytical storage with automatic downsampling, and interactive telemetry visualization using ECharts. Users can view speed, heart rate, cadence, altitude, power, and temperature data with synchronized zoom and pan. An activity map powered by MapLibre GL supports dynamic path coloring by metric and multiple map styles. The dashboard provides aggregate statistics across imported activities, advanced filtering by sport type, date range, duration, and full-text search, plus bulk and single-activity export to CSV, JSON, GPX, or KML. Import supports batch processing with duplicate detection. The interface includes dark and light themes, a responsive collapsible sidebar, and multi-language support. Security features include Argon2 password hashing, session-based authentication, and a first-use onboarding flow. The web/Docker mode does not include TLS/HTTPS, so the documentation recommends placing it behind a reverse proxy for internet-facing deployments. Data persists in a Docker named volume for self-hosted installations. The README also explains how to obtain FIT files from Garmin Connect through bulk export, individual activity export, or the Garmin-CLI command-line tool. The project is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 and is independent of Garmin.
