About this project
LitMotion is a high-performance tween library for Unity, designed for lightning-fast and zero-allocation animations. It provides a struct-based design and uses DOTS (Data-Oriented Technology Stack) for optimized performance, claiming to be 2 to 20 times faster than other tween libraries in various scenarios. The library supports animating Transform, Material, TextMeshPro, and any field or property with a simple one-line API. Features include complex easing, looping, delays, callbacks, coroutine and async/await support (via UniTask), integration with UniRx/R3 for reactive programming, special motions like Punch and Shake, and zero-allocation text animation for TextMeshPro and UI Toolkit. It also offers a Sequence feature (LSequence) for combining multiple motions and an optional LitMotion.Animation package for creating animations directly from the Inspector. The library works in both runtime and editor, includes debugging tools, and supports type extension via IMotionOptions and IMotionAdapter. Installation is via Unity Package Manager with a git URL. The README includes code examples demonstrating basic usage, sequence creation, and integration with UniTask and R3. Performance benchmarks are provided, showing significant improvements in startup and update times compared to other libraries, with zero GC allocations per tween creation. The project is MIT licensed and has an active Unity forum thread for support.
