About this project

Alp SDK is a unification software layer for Alp Lab edge AI modules built on the E1M open-standard form factor. It provides a single C/C++ API (`<alp/...>`) that works across every E1M-* SoM variant by wrapping each vendor's SDK on top of ARM CMSIS. Changing `som.sku:` in a project's `board.yaml` allows rebuilding for a different SoM within a family without source changes. The SDK covers peripherals (GPIO, I²C, SPI, UART, PWM, ADC, CAN, RTC, WDT, USB), audio (PDM in, I²S out, TAS2563), camera (OV5640, CAM_MUX), inference (loading `.alpmodel` fat packages and dispatching to Ethos-U, DRP-AI3, DEEPX DX-M1, or CPU/TFLM), IoT/BLE (Wi-Fi 6, MQTT, BLE 5.4), security (MbedTLS PSA Crypto, OPTIGA Trust M), storage (LittleFS), display/GUI (SSD1306/1331, LVGL, GPU2D/Dave2D), DSP/power, and heterogeneous IPC (RPMsg/OpenAMP, mailbox/shmem/hwsem). It also includes 80+ Tier-1 chip drivers and user libraries like ETL, fmt, nlohmann_json, doctest, LVGL, MbedTLS, CMSIS-DSP, and LittleFS. Supported hardware includes E1M-AEN (Alif Ensemble, up to ~1024 GOPS), E1M-X V2N (Renesas RZ/V2N, 4 TOPS), E1M-X V2N-M1 (Renesas + DEEPX, 4+25 TOPS), and E1M-i.MX93 (NXP, ~0.5 TOPS). OS targets are Zephyr, Yocto, and bare-metal. The SDK is partially silicon-verified: E1M-X V2N (GD32-bridge stack) and E1M-AEN801 (peripheral matrix + NPU inference + CC3501E bridge) are verified; other families remain pre-silicon. The build tooling uses `tan`, a standalone CLI (from `alplabai/tan-cli`), which handles bootstrapping, building, flashing, and model compilation. Development hosts include Linux, macOS, and Windows (native PowerShell or WSL2). The SDK is licensed under Apache License 2.0.
