About this project

Colima is a tool designed to provide container runtimes on macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon) and Linux with minimal configuration. It acts as a wrapper around Lima to simplify the deployment of various container environments. Key capabilities include: - Support for multiple container runtimes: Docker, Containerd (via nerdctl), and Incus (containers and virtual machines). - Optional Kubernetes integration for orchestrating containers. - GPU acceleration for AI workloads on Apple Silicon (macOS 13+) using the krunkit VM type, supporting model runners like Docker Model Runner and Ramalama. - VM customization options for CPU, memory, and disk allocation. - Automatic port forwarding and volume mounts. - Support for Rosetta 2 emulation on Apple Silicon (macOS 13+). - Ability to manage multiple instances.
