About this project

Synaptic Lens is an open-source advisor strategy skill designed to enhance AI coding agents by adding a layer of architectural reasoning. It operates as a strategic advisor that examines the structural DNA of a codebase before code generation, enabling agents to work with contextual awareness, architectural foresight, and security-conscious reasoning. The tool establishes a three-phase advisory loop: architectural contextualization, strategic decomposition, and guided execution. It is compatible with major AI coding environments including Claude Code, Cursor, Gemini CLI, and Cline, functioning as a universal skill plugin. Core capabilities include architectural reasoning (identifying implicit styles, hidden coupling, migration pathways, and technical debt), security sentinel (privilege escalation detection, data flow mapping, access control validation), performance oracle (latency cascade identification, memory allocation pattern recognition, query impact prediction), and debugging strategist (root cause reconstruction, local vs. structural fix evaluation, regression risk assessment). Synaptic Lens supports 12 human languages and features a responsive interface design for terminal, IDE panels, web-based agents, and mobile terminals. It emphasizes explicit transparency, providing assumptions, alternatives, evidence, and confidence levels for each recommendation. It also maintains Architecture Decision Records and includes ethical design guidelines such as no silent generation and preference for simplicity. Known limitations include static analysis scope, language maturity lag, architecture novelty recognition, and context window dependence. The project is licensed under MIT.
