Ideaspace Protocol defines a portable, file-based shape for AI agents to turn useful work into durable knowledge. An ideaspace is a git-managed folder of Markdown files where ordinary content lives alongside an _agent/ directory containing instructions, purpose, guides, and task-specific skills. This separation lets any conformant agent read only the context it needs from a folder, while the folder itself outlives specific models or tools. The repository provides the normative SPEC.md and SKILLS.md, a machine-readable schema, a reference TypeScript library for reading and writing ideaspaces, and a conformance kit with validators and test vectors. It supports composable _agent/ folders at any depth, safe local writes, optional identity and asset layers, and a provisional map block. The protocol is currently provisional at v0.13.5, so implementations should pin a version.
