tessella is a GPU-free Rust frontend for the MapLibre style spec that emits a renderer-agnostic capture stream. It handles style parsing, expression evaluation, sources, tiles, layout, glyphs, and orchestration but draws nothing, allowing a swappable renderer consumer. The project is at R0 with a frozen capture ABI, cross-compiles to aarch64/riscv64, and diffs against a C++ oracle.
